Introducing the EVENTSUDS™.

EVENTSUDS™ started out as a low toxicity water based industrial cleaner and de-greaser which we have been using in the oil spill industry for over 30 years. It is unique in that it is odorless, pleasant to use and very effective. I used to keep a few sample bottles around my house to clean grease spots from the garage floor and to wash the whitewall tires on my car. I don't care so much about the grease spots and I haven't had whitewalls in 10 years. But, when the horses arrived I leaned all about dirty blankets. After a winter of rolling in the mud and manure, most of the blankets would stand up by themselves and normal laundry detergents wouldn't come close to getting them clean. I would pre-soak them and then take them to the laundry and risk the ire of the owner if they caught me running those filthy things through their commercial washers. Most of the time the river of dirt and suds that ran out the top of the washing machine, would seal my fate for that location.

One day I took a few table spoons full of EVENTSUDS™ and sloshed it into a muck bucket full of filthy blankets. I let them soak for about 3 hours and then dumped them out. Lo and behold most of the dirt and muck went down the driveway. I put the blankets on the drive and hosed them off, hitting a few spots with a scrub brush to loosen some really heavy stuff. A little rinse cycle back in the muck bucket and I hung the blankets in the sun to dry. To my amazement they hardly even smelled bad. There was still some hair stuck to the inside but to get that stuff out you really need the machine agitation, and horses usually don't care.

A really dirty blanket, a muck bucket and some Eventsuds are all you need to get started.

Soak the blanket in a muck bucket for about 3 hours, agitating occasionally with a broom handle or some other stick, unless you really want to stick your hands in that stuff!!!
Lay the soaked blanket out over a driveway or patio and let the water drain away. It might smell really bad so don't do it on the patio before a dinner party. I use a long handled brush so I can stand up and scrub the really heavy spots. Then I flush out the dirt and filth with a garden hose. You can soak it again in clear water if you want to also just to make sure the suds are all gone and the dirt is washed off.

A clean blanket will look that way.

I let the blanket dry in the sun with the lining toward the top so that it dries more quickly.

A clean blanket will last longer when you put it away for the summer.

Key Benefits

bulletA quart of EVENTSUDS™ will wash about 12 really encrusted blankets, and lots of not so filthy ones. That's much cheaper than 2 cycles through the industrial washers down on the corner-if you can do that at all. For sure don't try it at home in Mom's washer unless you like smelling like Dobbin too!!
